Course Overview & Learning Objectives

Clinicians need to stay current in their knowledge of high-risk genetic cancer syndromes and appropriate treatment options. New discoveries of genes that lead to increased cancer risk are occurring quickly, as are the therapies targeting those genes. This half-day course for medical, radiation, and gynecologic oncologists, gynecologists, OB/GYNs, primary care physicians, and other clinicians involved in women’s health, will enhance practitioners’ knowledge in this area. Through lecture, case presentations, and Q&A, attendees will learn how to assess and manage risk for breast and gynecologic cancers, as well as understand genetic and lifestyle risk factors. In addition, specialists will provide updates on treatments for breast, ovarian, and endometrial cancers.

At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be able to: identify individuals who are at high cancer risk; integrate this knowledge about high-risk familial cancer syndromes into their practice; and utilize new advances in triple negative breast cancer, HER2+ breast cancer, high-risk newly diagnosed endometrial cancer, and recurrent ovarian cancer, and apply this knowledge into direct patient care.
