Course Objectives

This course is designed to provide hematologists, medical oncologists, nurse practitioners, and other interested clinicians with the most up-to-date information on recent advances in diagnosing and treating hematologic malignancies. Attendees will learn about medical advances presented at the 2009 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology for acute leukemia, lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, stem cell transplantation, multiple myeloma, myeloproliferative diseases, and coagulation. In addition, faculty will discuss challenging cases involving MDS, multiple myeloma, and follicular lymphoma.

About the Center for Hematologic Oncology at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center

We offer advanced, specialized care for patients with all types of hematologic malignancies, including leukemia and similar bone marrow disorders, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia, and other related blood disorders.

Together with our partner in adult care, Brigham and Women's Hospital, we are national leaders in stem cell transplantation, performing more than 500 transplants each year.

Our team of specialists is actively involved in basic and clinical research that advances the understanding and treatment of hematologic malignancies. Patients have access to many clinical trials that explore new therapies for those with hematologic disorders.
